Rules for adding "new Vocaloids" to the wikia
Hit my final straw with translators with our recently added page, and now disappeared page, Kamui the cat-girl.
Look guys... I had doubt from begining and said I found no evidence of her being a vocaloid. Then someone found evidence... Except it appears to be a HECK OF A MISTRANSLATION, one that now is circling the fandom, part in owed to my blunder of adding them. But I'm not alone, I added hder because people told me they found a translation that said she was official, and I was convinced by everyone...
Despite this, in the past few days I doubted a lot of the things around her. I couldn't find the MMB blog entry on her, turns out I wasn't looking far enough into April to find the entry. Finally found it and now I'm miffed with this and I'm calling this the final verdict on adding "Vocaloids" top the wikia.
True she may turn out to be a vocaloid, as even though MMB cited there was no source to prove she was vocaloid related, as with Meaw there is always some *debate* on such details. We kinda don't always get the full picture on vocaloid development. So we cannot say that 100% with definite she won't be a vocaloid, especially as KEI is cited as the illustrator here (though even he is not without humour).
So I'm finally going to do it, I'm proposing we get something into place here.
I don't think its imposible to prevent the indefinate entry of fakes anyway, but at least getting some sort of rules and guidelines in place will help us establish *when* a vocaloid should get a page.
Some ideas;
- You may add a Vocaloid page wif the vocaloid is announced on an official twitter, website, etc, that was created by existing studios.
- You may not add characters whose studios are not known, or are fake companies.
- Potential Vocaloids don't deserve a page until they actually become vocaloids.
- If there is no source on a vocaloid to be had beyond a translation into English, don't rush to add it or call it a vocaloid.
Edit: Also I think its time we finally addressed the Meaw page in light of this. Its never been flat out stated and I've had a grudge against unofficially declared projects not being flat out stated "its a vocaloid!".
