I've heard that something happened with his VP and family and that could've been it, so I'm sure you're not far off, if you're off at all.
I was asking the Wikia Contributor but whatever
if you want to ask/talk to a specific person, use @ and then their name. However, don't go to a wiki and only accept one person's answer. If people know what they're talking about, LISTEN TO THWM
I don't like using "@" ;_; I was asking the Wikia Contributor because he was talking about OLIVER's voice provider I never said other people couldn't answer that's why I said whatever. Plus I've told you I don't like talking to you sometimes ._.
If you don't use the "@" or the quote button, you're going to have this problem every time then.
This is a forum. Nobody knows who you're trying to talk to and assume you're speaking to the general public.
I thought since my comment was right under the Wikia Contributors comment and he or she was talking about OLIVER's voice provider people would know I was talking to the Wikia Contributor ._.
@Nick - It's best not to assume that.
If you're talking to a specifc person, better be safe than sorry and use "@" or quote button. Otherwise, people think you're talking to everyone, even if your comment is directly after the person you're talking to.
I really had no problem with anyone answering, plus I've done this a few times and other people knew.
@Nick: Sometimes it's clear, but if you intend to direct it only towards a certain user, @ sign is the safest way to go... or if you know you're going to be posting directly after the post you're replying to, sometimes even the little carrat symbols ^^ works at the beginning.
To me, quotes should be reserved when you're replying to a post that's several posts or a conversation removed from the most current one... word/character counts tend to be the enemy for some mobile devices' page loading times.
(EDIT: NINJA'D! Curse my novel writing.) (・///・)
And for the sake of steering back OT... although it would be nice for both SONiKA and Oliver to have updates, I'm not holding out any hope for either. Both Zero-G and PowerFX/Vocatone have their aims on other projects, and I'm on the fence with new providers taking over older banks... it's already quite noticable when even the original providers re-record samples for bank updates and people get antsy over those slight differences. (See all CFM VOCALOID updates thus far for reference material.) So you can only imagine the sort of reluctance some users of either would have if they were to get new VPs to revive the voicebanks to newer engine iterations.
Also, seeing Zero-G's track record along side PowerFX's, it's safe to say don't expect VOCALOID updates from them any time soon... just brand new VOCALOIDs altogether. Which technically isn't a bad thing, at least it would give more variety. (´･~ ･｀｡)
However, seeing as AHS is doing some sample pulling for Yuki in terms of growl and quite possibly a few other points of data that may be needed to bring her to V4, as well as Music Airport (the company behind UEKI-loid) taking this approach with using Hitoshi Ueki's son for additional voice samples needed to complete the initial private voicebank, it's not an impossible thing if they're able to find a similar sounding VP for Oliver. (And that is IF they ever had intentions on updating him for future versions of VOCALOID.) But looking at it from the angle of V4 being backwards compatible and not many users seeing the practicality of making a choir boy voice incorporate growling, I can see why it's not that much of a priority.
In short, with how I'm seeing it, we're more likely to see updates of Utatane Piko than either of those two.

You can also quote a reply like this.
If you do not use "@", people normally guess your replying to the previous answer above you, unless its obivous what the conversation is about.
There is no golden rule for using any of this, its just in forums you get a dozen people talking about things and it kinda gets complication to follow a persons post without "@" or quoting. Even just mentioning their name when you ask the question if you don't want to use those, can help prevent confusion saying that...
@Convo on Zero-G updates... At least with PowerFX the money thing is something that will ultimately say everything that needs to be said... They were in V2 the smallest company, which is why they release vocaloids every other year. This is likely aqlso why they only offered a 1/4 of the price for Ruby.
Though to be fair to the situation of both Syo and PowerFX and trying not to side with either... Syo may not like it but this is the price of 1 vocal... And he did spend time on re-doing the voice and a Japanese voice which is fine, but these voices won't be put up for release. Had he not re-done the voice or did a Japanese voice, he would have had closer cost versus development time results. Saying that, to release Ruby as a V4 and not as a V3, may prove a lot better seeing Chika's late release left her arkwardly sat so close to V4s release... So everyone focused on the V4 products. I don't think the situation was good at all, but everyone guesses Yamaha didn't give much warning of V4... :-/
What do you think?
