Crypton future media moved their voicebanks to piapro studio
Yeah, I know that. That doesn't mean that they're not vocaloids anymore. When they still are technically are vocaloids even if Piapro to down their VBs
Good point my dude
@Simpleswisscheese was that aimed at me?
Yes
@Simpleswisscheese oh sorry :(
It's no problem chatting on the internet can be pretty confusing :)
Yeah true
Piapro Studio does not run on VOCALOID API anymore, therefore, future versions of the Piapro Characters are not VOCALOID products anymore. Of course, Crypton will still sell all their old VOCALOID powered Piapro Character products because it's still a source of income for the company.
The older Vocaloid powered voicebanks were made for Vocaloid and thus they will never stop being Vocaloid voicebanks.
But as Rilena said, Miku NT, Kagamine NT aren't Vocaloids.
So yes, their not Vocaloids anymore, the big issue is Yamaha owns Vocaloid and Yamaha doesn't acknowledge anything that isn't powered by their own engine. This inclides derivatives like Neru and Haku, as well as UTAU like Teto. So unless it has a Vocaloid power voicebank, its just not Vocaloid.
So the CFM vocals have moved from Vocaloid and thus are no longer "Vocaloid", they 'were' Vocaloids and when we talk about them as Vocaloids we only talk about their V1-V4 releases.
Their not the only ones to jump engines. Xingchen also sort of left Vocaloid too. There are vocals like Nana and Petit who have gone from Reason and Garage band to UTAU and then Vocaloid. There are also vocals like IA and Yu7kari that are split between two engines and thus are both. Though I would not be surprised if IA left Vocaloid altogether.
What do you think?
