How did y’all start getting into vocaloid?? Tbh I think I got into it by watching too many animatic memes, then I just fell down the wormhole known as vocaloid... oops

I kinda got into it along with anime itself, I watched a movie with my friends at a sleepover and then we watched some other anime and I somehow got into it
Once I was playing a game and was bored so I decided to look at its' blog and found a drawing someone made of Hatsune Miku. I was interested in finding an anime at that time since one of my friends was begging me to watch something anime related and I thought Miku looked like an anime character. I searched her up and started reading about her, found out that she was actually something called a Vocaloid, and started listening to some songs sung by her and completely forgot about finding an anime. I was way more interested in Miku and Vocaloid-related things and eventually came to learn about all the others and how the software actually works.
I was exposed to the internet at a young age. one day "triple baka" came into my youtube feed and i was very curious. i clicked on it and since that day I listen to vocaloid all the time. world is mine also was one of my first vocaloid songs.
You know its pretty typical most fans get into Vocaloid because of anime, I remember in about 2011 telling someone that "you are not a weaboo because you like Vocaloid". Mostly because before Avanna and Oliver I was a fan of English Vocaloids, who didn't have a avatar usually.
The anti-weaboo crowd was pathetic.
I honestly think its nice things cross over from one area to another. I mean I was a anime fan and Vocaloid does have a tendacy once in a blue moon to stroke my nostalgia for thos days. As one of the older and vetted members of this fandom, personnally at the end of the day I just want more Vocaloid fans in this fandom. \(^o^)/
Well, one day in my recommends appeared, uh... I think it was first Echo and later Again and later Copycat...
And well.
I was gifted a drawing of Miku when I was young. It's still hanging on my bedroom's wall :3
Also there was a children's program on TV where they once did a documentary about Miku Expo.
I don't remember which, but one of these experiences was my first contact with vocaloid.
Back in around 2015-16 i was on youtube and saw a video of “shake it!” live and decided to watch it because i liked the colors in the thumbnail or something. I loved it so much i started searching up the romaji lyrics and following along to the song
I watched the recommended videos under that one and it all became a good snowball from there
Even though “shake it!” isn’t one of my favorites anymore, it still holds a special place in my heart
I started seeing Miku everywhere and I was like "Dang! I gotta watch this anime!" And then I learned it wasn't an anime and that's why I'm here
One word, ‘Undertale’. It’s because of Drop Pop Candy and ECHO. I still remember the covers of the songs like the back of my hand I was that into the game XD
I got introduced to Vocaloid in 2014 when I saw "Kids react to Hatsune Miku". Before that, I also saw a Frozen MMD video with Miku and some pics on Google of her.
What do you think?
