In December 2020 I discovered Groove Coaster on my Nintendo switch, and it had Tell Your World, Night Sky Patrol of Tomorrow and The First Sound on it; all by Vocaloids Miku and IA. I really liked Tell Your World and Night Sky Patrol, so I looked them up on YouTube. Turns out that Hatsune Miku is really popular. So I wanted to listen to more of her songs, and that was when I discovered Rin and Len in the Bring It On! MV. I also found Kimagure Mercy and discovered Teto, Haku, and Luka. I also discovered Project Diva and got the Switch demo, with Common World Domination and Romeo and Cinderella. I was like, "oh, that's cool!" and I sort of stopped listening to the songs. At around September 2022, I picked up my switch and saw project diva at the back of my games list. I said to myself, "oh god, I remember this game" and clicked on it and started to play it. As I was happily listening to Common World Domination in the car on the way home, I wanted to go on my phone and listen to more of her songs, and some other vocaloid songs as well. I went on Spotify, created a playlist called "My fave vocaloid songs!" and I slowly added more and more songs as I discovered them. Eventually the playlist grew to about 1.5 hours. As the days went on, I would discover new Vocaloids, new songs, new Vocaloid producers. In January 2023, I discovered.... The meme squad; Fukase, VFlower, Piko and Oliver. I started watching sh!tposts, and my interest in vocaloid escalated really quickly. I slowly started adding more and more songs to the playlist, and it grew to 5 hours. It is currently sitting at just over 6 hours! If you want to see it, it is called:
My interest grew so much that I asked my mum if I could get a Miku cosplay for Christmas. She said yes! In June 2023, I will be going to a comic-con in Adelaide, Australia! Big shout-out to all of those people that made Vocaloid happen, because what would we all do without it? It has made my life different in many ways, and it has made me a hell of a lot happier. Thank you all for listening to my story!
