To all my VOCALOID users...

I can't really find any information, but does anyone know if there are any specifics I need to know about making and selling music using v4 flower's voice as a non-Japanese person?

Like, if I want to sell through a distributer...say...TuneCore America or something...would I have to contact them about it? And ask for permission? Or can I make music for free without contacting them?

Is her licenese stuff only if I want to make money off the character itself? Like, if I make a song, upload a music video, but the illustration is not of the vflower character, am I in the clear?

I'm just curious

1. Do most VOCALOIDs come with a license to use the voice, just the voice, commercially in songs without contacting the company?

2. If you want to use the character image in, idk, videos or illustrations for music videos to original works, do you need to contact the company as well?

I'm mostly curious about the licensing for the following VOCALOIDs.

• V5 Standard Vocals (Ken, Kaori, Amy, Chris)

• Otomachi Una

• flower

• Megpoid GUMI

• Kaai Yuki

• IA

• All the CRYTONloids

I'm pretty new to the more legal side of this. I'm mostly looking from advice from people who have either a) used VOCALOID to make commercial works or b) can understand all that legal stuff in the licenses you agree to when you buy the thing.

So....I have A LOT of questions like this.

1. VOCALOID 5 Editor License Ownership

I intend to use VOCALOID to produce my own commercial works, original songs. But, I need to know how licenses work.

I didn't buy the editor myself. One of my parents did. Does this mean that the editor and commerical license is licensed to that person? Meaning, I (insert real name I'm not gonna tell you) won't be able to use the editor to make commercial works or profit? The laptop the editor is on is my own laptop, not this persons.

This also applies to other voicebanks I buy. Some of them may be bought with my own money and name, others may be bought for me by others. Will the ownership and licenses to be allotted to separate people? Or just the device they're on?

2. Standard Voicebank Licenses

Do I automatically have a commercial license to use Chris, Amy, Kaori, and Ken commerically? Just by owning them and them coming with the V5 editor?
