I’m wondering if anyone else hates this:
When people say a Vocaloid song is by the Vocaloid itself.
For example, saying “Electric Angel by Hatsune Miku” as opposed to saying “Electric Angel by Yasuo”, even though Yasuo is the actual real life person who made the song and Miku was basically just a musical tool.
I just get annoyed by it because it draws attention away from the actual on artists. Also because Vocaloids aren’t real people, they’re basically musical instruments. It’s a voice synthesizer software. Miku is just a voicebank, not an artist. She doesn’t have a musical style, she doesn’t have song writing talent, she’s not even real. Yet I see people seem to ignore the actual artists behind the songs, those who actually DO have talent, being ignored for the sake of the song being labeled by the voice (or voices) that the artist still had to actually tune.
Maybe that’s overly dramatic, but that’s how it feels to me.
So, I say: Remember the actual person, please. Or people in some cases (Hyperdontia, Wildfire [insert me crying here], etc.).
After all, how would you feel if you wrote a song that used guitar and somebody said “Oh yeah, I like Song Title by Guitar” when the guitar was just an instrument that YOU used to create the song?
Or don’t. I can’t control your life.
Also: does anybody else have the same pet peeve that I do?
