Background[]
"1,2, FanClub" is an original song by mikitoP. It was reuploaded to YouTube on October 2, 2019, and uploaded to bilibili on August 14, 2022.
The song references many Mandarin words as the plot of the song is about "learning" Chinese. GUMI and Rin wish to learn Chinese so they could say "wǒ ài nǐ" (I love you) to the person they admire, who is presumably a Chinese celebrity, and to be able to speak the same language as them. Thus, the duo forms a fan club dedicated to China as their obsession with the country gradually increases.
Rin seems to play the role of the student, whereas GUMI is Rin's "teacher" due to her knowledge of the language.
Some Cross-Strait Mandarin artists are mentioned in the lyrics below:
- レスリー・チャン: Leslie Cheung, a.k.a Leslie Cheung Kwok-wing (in Chinese: 張國榮)
- ジェイ・チョウ: Jay Chou, a.k.a. Zhōu Jiélún (in Chinese: 周杰倫)
- ワン・リーホン: Alexander Leehom Wang, a.k.a. Wang Leehom (in Chinese: 王力宏)
This song has entered the Hall of Legend and exceeded over 20 million YouTube views. Hence, this is one of mikitoP's most notable songs.
