Background[]
"Nobore! Susume! Takai tou" is an original song by Kikuo. The song was originally made for the album 第一幕 (Daiichimaku) by the joint unit Kikuohana. Since then, a VOCALOID version with Hatsune Miku was released, which has been included as a part of Kikuo Miku 5.
The song tells the story of a tower that rose above the clouds. On each floor of the tower were various attractions, so filled with joy that those who climbed it wouldn’t want to leave. However, should they reach the top, they would find a construction site overseen by demons—and their body would become a part of the tower. To better reach a mysterious sweet-tasting rain, one that would grant overflowing happiness when drank, the tower would continue to be built taller and taller.
However, as the tower got built too high, it began to crumble, the bodies of the ensnared all falling to the earth below. Some time after its collapse, the ruins of what once was were searched, and inside was found a fossil of the mysterious rain. After it was studied by some intelligent minds, it was concluded that beyond the clouds was abundant happiness and joy. The tower’s construction began once more, and the cycle starts anew.
The song has entered the Hall of Fame and exceeded 1 million views on YouTube.
