“Vocaloid culture has endured for over a decade by embracing all kinds of people and works, sustaining itself through immense diversity. Whether it’s rock, jazz, or underground music, this scene welcomes any style, so long as it is sung by a Vocaloid—making it a rare case among music communities.

Yet even this Vocaloid world has been reshaped by the evolution of the internet, where trends are now governed by recommendation algorithms. As a result, the songs most widely known in the community have become meme-like, and some listeners dismiss them as “shallow,” directing their hatred toward them.

However, I believe that even works dismissed as “shallow” are still part of that diversity and worth defending. Having grown by accepting everything, we should not carelessly reject works. If anything, it is the recommendation algorithms themselves that deserve our criticism.

There are indeed Mikus who continue to sing in places unseen. When I think of the creators who partner with those Mikus, my heart aches. Yet the cause is not that meme-like works happen to hold the numbers. Rather, it is that we, bound by recommendation algorithms, have forgotten how to lose ourselves and stumble into the places that escape their grasp.

"There Is a You That I Don't Know Yet !!!" is an original, fast-paced electronic song by Sheeno Mirin, featuring Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto UTAU, SynthesizerV and VOICEPEAK. It was released as a participating work in The VOCALOID Collection 2025 Summer event, where it ranked 7th place in the TOP 100 ranking. It also marks Sheeno Mirin’s first use of Kasane Teto and also using UTAU and SynthesizerV.

According to the author’s own words, the song serves as a commentary on the state of the Vocaloid community. In their view, recommendation algorithms have pushed certain “meme-like” popular songs to the forefront, causing some listeners to dismiss them as “shallow.” However, Sheeno argues that even these works are part of the community’s diversity and should not be rejected outright. The real issue lies not in the songs themselves, but in how algorithms narrow what listeners encounter, which makes it harder to stumble upon the many other Vocaloid works that remain hidden.

In this sense, this song is about acknowledging the unseen songs and creators outside algorithm-driven trends, and about the joy of discovering voices and works that lie beyond what is immediately recommended.

The song has entered the Hall of Fame.
