Background[]
Answer (originally titled as 『 』) is a song created by iron as a participating work in the Mushoku Tomei Festival. Upon its initial anonymous upload on July 28th, 2022, the song quickly gained recognition, and eventually entered the VOCALOID Hall of Fame one day later. At that time, it also surpassed Bug's record (19 hours and 53 minutes) by nearly four hours, thus establishing its status as the fastest song to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Controversy[]
After 『 』 was upload, many people have pointed out its similarities with PEOPLE 1's song 銃の部品 (Juu no Buhin), thus raising suspicion of a possible plagiarism case.
Taking notice of the situation, the staff team of the Mushoku Tomei Sai event had the song promtply privatized without notice on July 29th, shortly after its entering the Hall of Fame. On the night of July 30th, the Official Mushoku Tomei Sai Twitter account released an official statement regarding the sudden privatization of the song,[1], confirming the reason as suspected plagiarism.
On July 31st, iron revealed their identity as the author of the unnamed song, and made several posts addressing the situation on their Twitter account. On August 5th, the song was reuploaded by iron under the name "Answer", as iron explained how the song was initially intended to serve as a homage to PEOPLE 1's song Juu no Buhin[2]. They also apologized to both PEOPLE 1 and The Mushoku Tomei Sai Staff for the misunderstandings[3], and announced that they would also cease their activities as a VOCALOID producer[4].
On August 7th, PEOPLE 1 released their response, stating that "The song couldn't be taken as a homage"[5]. The following day, Iron released a second apology[6], and had the song to privatized once again[7].
