Background[]
"Relationship Scramble" is an original song by DECO*27 featuring Hatsune Miku and the group OTOIRO's 3rd song together.
The song simply depicts a young boy dating different girls after his lover's death, where it is shown that the lover had comitted suicide. The boy tries to move on but by the end of the music video, it becomes clear that he is still deeply consumed by grief, so much so that the memory of his lover lingers as a haunting shadow within him.
The song has a lot of references to Shibuya Kousaten, a famous scramble crossing in Shibuya-Ku, Tokyo, which is sometimes called the "Shibuya Scramble". This is supported for 3 reasons: the song's name has the word "scramble" within it; the song's name also has the Japanese kanji "交" within it, which is the first character for both the word Kousai (Companionship) and Kousaten (Crossing); the music video for the song itself is very obviously based in Shibuya Kousaten, as the roads within the intersection, as well as the buildings and the elevated railway, are all replicated within the art for the video.
A scramble crossing, or a pedestrian crossing, is an intersection in which all traffic stops for pedestrian movement across all directions.
This song is featured on the album Android Girl. It has reached the Hall of Legend.
