Background[]
Time Machine is a pop rock, rock ballad song with music by 40mP, and lyrics by 164, together known as 1640mP. It is sung by Hatsune Miku. It's a nostalgic song that can be either interpreted either a farewell or a person recalling the memories of the things they've left behind. The PV depicts a giant Miku assisting with the construction of the Tokyo Skytree, which was under construction at the time the song was uploaded. In the song's game PV, Miku is depicted on a train platform, looking back on the memories of the time she spent with someone, whose point of view the flashbacks are from. The flashbacks show the two running down a path among a row of sunflowers to a treehouse that Miku built, Miku sitting on a swing, eating watermelon, and crossing off the days on a calendar. She is also shown to be putting together a scale model of Tokyo Skytree and the immediate surrounding buildings of Sumida Tokyo (where the Skytree is located). Miku and the person she is with are shown standing on the train platform as the train approaches. The person boards, and Miku is shown tearfully running down the platform after the train as it departs. The pv ends with a final flashback that shows Miku successfully placing the last piece of the Tokyo Skytree scale model in place, which she is overjoyed to have completed, and jumps towards the person with a smile on her face.
This song entered the Hall of Legend on January 29, 2013.
