Background[]
“What do you think about human living things?”
—Author's comment
"Near" is an original song by Natsushiro Takaaki featuring Hatsune Miku. The song takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, where a scientist remains alive. Out of the loneliness, he creates the robot girl, named Near (who is modeled after a childhood friend?). However, the robot initially cannot feel emotions, nor can she answer philosophical and emotional questions.
Over the span of time, the scientist teaches Near how to "feel". Several years later, the scientist passes away next to his "daughter", her emotions grow stronger as she learns of how the tragic nature of death.
Near has entered the Hall of Legend, and has more than 80 thousand views in bilibili.
