Background[]
"Magic Ring Night" is a song by Kanon69 featuring Megurine Luka V4X. It's the 9th episode of the ongoing Royal Scandal series and the 10th song overall. In contrast to the other songs in the series, this song has a Middle Eastern style melody. It is a prequel to the events of Beast in the Beauty.
The song is about Olivia and Alam's relationship and how they met. It uses the metaphor of Aladdin, how Olivia (the daughter of an aristocrat) and Alam (a poor merchant) cannot be togueter due to their different status, but even so, Alam still loved Olivia despite this (similar to Aladdin and Jasmine).
The PV begins with Alam traveling through a rocky region with his camel, where he comes across Olivia sitting on a rock, wearing a cloak. They take each other's hand and travel to nearby city, where Olivia flips down the hood of her cloak with a smile. Alam, captivated by her, smiles and does the same. The two wander the city together, and 3 merchants appear onscreen with smiles, and holding up various items, a long sash, a necklace, and a wedge heel shoe, (all of which are blue and gold, which Olivia appears to buy and put on, evident by her outfit change). Throughout, the two are dancing happily together and end up in what appears to be a balcony. Afterwards, however, they are spotted by a group of people dressed in purple (presumably sent to find Olivia), who immediately separate the two and escort Olivia away while preventing Alam from going after them. Alam is then approached by Harvey and Matt. Harvey appears to offer to help Alam, showing him a book turned to a page illustrating a ring with a spade on it, and sends Alam to find it. Upon finding the ring, Alam puts it on and immediately falls victim to what appears to be a curse, in which thorny rose stems entangle him and a giant rose appears from the ring itself before disappearing. During this, Harvey and Matt had appeared behind Alam, who reaches out towards Harvey, grabbing at and removing the rabbit's mask covering his face. At this point, Alam realizes he'd been tricked, and is swiftly kicked in the stomach by Harvey. As Alam lies on the ground, he sees a brief vision of Olivia, and gives a weak smile before succumbing to the curse. Sometime later, a saddened Olivia is seen leaving Bar Masquerade and returning to her home. Shortly after, Alam enters, much to Olivia's surprise and delight, and the two embrace. The PV ends when Alam opens his eyes while embracing Olivia, revealing red eyes, and setting the stage for the events of Beast in the Beauty.
