Background[]
"Tetsu no Shojo to Yumemigachi na Ohimesama" or most notably by the name known as: "The Iron Maiden and the Dreamy Princess" is a dark electro and synth-pop song by Joruzin featuring Kagamine Rin. This is most mostly known for disturbing story and filled with tragedy but also known notably for it's music video that was all animated in Flipnote making it stand out of the other Joruzin songs, all drawn by the animator, porio.
The song is based around a Elizabeth Báthory, a Hungarian noblewoman and convicted serial killer who killed girls and women from the family of Báthory, who owned land in the Kingdom of Hungary. There are many stories and retellings about Báthory quickly became part of national folklore and fairy tales, This song is one of those retellings about her. Note that this song is not really a "true" story about Báthory, more like another different retelling of the story since it's was told by folklore.
The story of song starts of girl named Eliza (a short name for "Elizabeth"), who was married at castle Csejte in the age of 15 and has belonged to the Báthory family, a noble family in Transylvania; filled with p-dophiles, sex addicts and worshippers of the devil, the lyrics had said that tracing her lineage with abnormal relatives leads in to a certain "Man". Eliza was happy and celebrated to become one of the nobles but it was cut short by her stepmother (who is also a dictator) who will be ruled the castle instead of her husband due to going on various wars, the stepmother tortured her as discipline along with the mockery of her servants. Eliza's only joy she had left is that she also read books and have knowledge of "Black Magic", passed down from the Byzantine era.
After time passes where the stepmother had passed away, Eliza had the chance to revenge by giving them punishment just like her stepmother, punishing to the servants that supported her, until Eliza had gone mad by making killing them as sexual pleasure, a result of the psychological torture that her stepmother did. She snapped her senses of seeing many bodies around her.
Just like in the folklore, the song tells she had killed and tortured many young women in various ways (700 or 800 of them to be exact according the lyrics), and also using them to bathe with their blood, but her most favorite torture device of all was to put them in the Iron Maiden, which was relevant to the song's title.
Since Eliza's mass but well hidden killings, many women who worked at the castle had spread rumors and even town-to-town to expose her but none of them got any concrete evidence and could'nt even stand up or against the nobles. That is until one woman named Flora (Born from Wallacia), managed to expose Eliza by working the job at the castle. While Flora's fighting for her survival as she can, In December 30, 1610; Count Thurzó, Palatine of the Kingdom of Hungary had set out a fact-finding team, until one maiden who had escaped the castle finally reported and exposed Eliza's evil deeds. Despite Eliza getting caught, she could not resist running away instead she unusually waited to greet Count Thurzó and to give him some tea. In seeing the face of her insanity, she was arrested.
As of what happened to end of Eliza and her arrests, an on-screen text self-explains it at the end of the PV and the song:
“In January 1611, at the court where Count Thurzó served as judge, three chamberlains and maids deeply linked to the slaughter were convicted of a capital crime.
Unable to grant a public sentence to Elizabeth herself due to her nobility, her bedroom at Csejte Castle was sealed with mortar.
Confined in her room without even a scrap of light entering, and unable to speak to or see anyone, Eliza lived three long years in the darkness, then passed away
(Age at death: 54)”
—Translated On-screen text in the end, Translated by Releska
Since it's upload it has garnered some popularity and resurgence until it became an instant hit with millions of YouTube views and entered the Hall of Fame. Currently, this song gained 9 thousand views on Niconico, Almost at the Hall of Legend and gained 10 Million views on YouTube since around 2023. This was hence, the only most notable Joruzin song to ever achieved in this milestone, surpassing their old notable songs and also becoming one of Kagamine Rin's notable songs along with other Rin songs that gained 10 or more than 10 million.
The song has also other references of other derivative but slightly different Elizabeth stories such as Blood Countess Elizabeth Báthory by Kiryuu Misao and Atopos by Shimada Shouji.
In August 1, 2024; Joruzin received a prequel song named "Dracula to Natta Otoko no Monogatari", which was an answer of who is that certain "Man" was in the Báthory family's lineage. This was fitting as many stories or even popular theories about Elizabeth Báthory describing her of having vampiric tendencies.
