Background[]
"Aun no Beats" is an original song by Hanyuu Maigo featuring flower. This song has entered the Hall of Legend with over 2 million views on Niconico, and has also gained 20 million views on YouTube.
In Japanese Buddishm, the term Aun (阿吽) is the transliteration in Japanese of the two syllables "a" and "hūṃ", written in Devanagari as अहूँ. 'A' and 'un' represent the beginning and the end of all things respectively[1], in which everything came into being and into which everything returns at the end of a cosmic cycle[2].
The word aun from the title of the song is taken from the Japanese idiom 阿吽の仲 (a-un no naka), a phrase that indicates an inherently harmonious relationship where both parties can understand the other without the need of verbal communication. The title of the song corresponds to the lyrics, which express the agony and sorrow of those who are in love and share an intimate relationship with each other, yet not being able to stay together in the end.
There are several popular interpretations of the song, one of which talks about a tragic love story where a person mourns the death of their lover. A second interpretation for this song also portrays a bond initially tied by the words "we were going to be together forever", yet gradually loses its spark and becomes loveless; however, neither of the two has the courage to say a proper goodbye to the other, leaving their relationship vague and lukewarm by the end of the song.
