On May 30, 2025, it was announced that Kizuna Akari would be updated to the VOCALOID6 engine, with Internet Co., Ltd. developing and marketing it just like they did for AI Yuzuki Yukari three months earlier. Named AI Kizuna Akari, pre-orders for the new voicebank were opened the same day, with release date set for June 13.[1]
