History[]
On February 29, 2024, GUMI announced "Lively Paradise 2024", a live concert to be held on August 10 and to be hosted by herself, Camui Gackpo, and Otomachi Una to celebrate their 15th, 16th, and 8th anniversaries (respectively); a crowdfund campaign was announced for it along with a list of planned reward tiers within the announcement thread.[1][2][3][4] On March 15, the crowdfunder, which was scheduled to start taking pledges on March 22, opened in advance its page on the CAMPFIRE platform; that same day, six of its highest-priced reward tiers (Delivery Special Plan, Local Special Plan, Delivery Full Support Plan, Local Full Support Plan, Local Platinum Support Plan, Local Platinum Support Plan + Crystal Block) were updated to include early access to a new VOCALOID6 voicebank named AI Megpoid SOLID, whose download version would become available to backers of such plans three days before its planned release to the general public by the end of June.[5] The main reason for developing this new, separate voice (which required new recordings and full development costs, as if she were a completely-different character) was VOCALOID6 not supporting voice-style changes equivalent to Synthesizer V AI's vocal modes; in response to a user, it was also announced that users who had previously purchased AI Megpoid would be able to purchase the new voicebank at a discounted price.[6]
On June 5, Internet Co. Ltd. revealed GUMI's design for her SOLID voicebank, along with a release date set for July 4. It was made available as a stand-alone and as a starter pack.[7]
AI Megpoid SOLID released on July 4 as scheduled.
