On August 29, 2024, the official Tsuina-chan PR Twitter account announced that it was preparing a big announcement, that was being kept a secret, on the following day, August 30 between 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. JST. [1] In accordance with the announcement, a set of voice materials was also announced to be released on the official Tsuina-chan Fantia account the same day.[2] The following day, Internet Co., Ltd. and Tsuina, the Ogre Hunter Project announced the development of an AI voicebank to be released for VOCALOID6 for Tsuina-chan on September 30, based on the voice of Mai Kadowaki, a Japanese voice actress. Pre-orders were opened the same day and would be available in both digital download and packaged editions as well as Starter Pack options. Pre-orders would include a set of bonus "Tsui Tsui Voice Vol. 1" (ついついボイス Vol.1) featuring over 200 audio files (.WAV format). Tsuina-chan noted that voice lines were selected that could be useful for music production and also included a selection of long-awaited "non-verbal voices".[3][4] Tsuina-chan noted that this was a dream of hers for a long time and hoped for everyone to use it.[5][6][7] It was noted by Tsuina-chan that this was made possible by permission from AH-Software Co. Ltd. who, up until the VOCALOID6 announcement, had handled the development and distribution of Tsuina-chan's earlier VOICEROID2 and Synthesizer V Studio products. Tsuina-chan expressed gratitude to AH-Software, Internet Co. and the Yamaha Corporation for allowing her to become a cross-platform vocalist.[8][9]
It was noted that the Tsuina-chan Project was inspired by the VOCALOID movement led by Hatsune Miku, and became a goal of the project for over 14 years to develop a VOCALOID for Tsuina-chan.[10][11][12][13] Tsuina-chan was reinvigorated by the announcement of Hatsune Miku’s return to VOCALOID.[14] Tsuina-chan noted that the voice between the VOCALOID6 edition and the Synthesizer V Studio edition, while both having been recorded by Mai Kadowaki, carry different accuracies.[15] It was also stated that both softwares would be continued to be sold side-by-side, with Tsuina-chan encouraging users to "choose the one you like... or rather, use both and try out the full potential of her voice."[16] Tsuina-chan noted that if users preferred a more natural singing style, to try the Synthesizer V Studio voice database, though if they preferred a more synthetic style of vocal synthesis, to try out her VOCALOID6.[17] Tsuina-chan noted that if the conditions are good, Tsuina-chan aims to put products out anywhere, even to the extent of CeVIO.[18] There were however, no plans for the creation of a library for VOICEPEAK at this time.[19] Five demonstration songs were released upon Tsuina-chan's debut on the official Internet Co. SoundCloud, each performed with a different style.[20][21][22][23] Tsuina-chan introduced each song and producer individually featuring: ざるぼうる (@zal_bowl2222)[24], 荒芳樹 (@carrotwine_)[25], azuma (@bk_azuma), who returned to produce a demo song after producing one for her Synthesizer V voice database [26][27], collt (Kalpanica, @yuh2532)[28] and EO (エオ, @eo_aui7740).[29] The demonstrations were instructed to be unfinished versions and not master recordings, though Tsuina-chan was very humbled at the quality of the recordings.[30]
