On February 27, 2025, it was announced that Yuzuki Yukari would be updated to the VOCALOID6 engine, with Internet Co., Ltd. now developing and marketing it. Named AI Yuzuki Yukari, pre-orders for the new voicebank were opened the same day, with release date set for March 13, nearly ten years after her V4s were released.[1]
During an interview with online magazine DTM Station, Bumpy Urushi, head of VOCALOMAKETS, revealed that Yamaha Corporation proposed him to update Yukari to VOCALOID6. Since Yukari had started in VOCALOID, Bumpy desired to update her to V6 so, given Yamaha's proposal, he consulted with AH-Software Co. Ltd. (who had previously developed and distributed her VOCALOID3 and VOCALOID4 voicebanks, and still markets her official merchandise including but not limited to plush dolls). However, AHS was said to be "busy with various things" (like marketing the then-upcoming Synthesizer V Studio 2 singing-synthesis engine developed by Dreamtonics Co., Ltd. as well as developing various voice databases for it, including but not limited to miki and Hiyama Kiyoteru) and "it is not convenient at the moment, so" Bumpy "received a reply that if you want to release it, please consult with Yamaha and proceed", thus ending up with Internet.[2]
