Akali, also known as Akai Ringo (赤い林檎) and GokukanP (極甘P), and previously known as RINGO, was a VOCALOID music producer who mainly used Otomachi Una, GUMI, and Hatsune Miku.
Akali's style was strongly influenced by the producer MARETU, whom Akali showed great respect for and gained inspiration from. While it is noted that her music works resemble that of MARETU's in various ways, the differences between the two producers are still noticeable, with Akali gradually forming a more distinct style in later songs.
Saien is her most renowned work, being her first song to enter the Hall of Fame.
In late December 2018, Akali deleted her Twitter, piapro and Website, as well as almost entirely all of her songs on Niconico and YouTube, with the exception of Saien being the only one left intact. The message left on her channel indicates that she ceased all VOCALOID-related activities. However, in January 2023, she began reuploading her old works onto YouTube and also started producing new songs.
On January 22, 2025, Akali's friend, VOCALOID Producer HasakiToru, made a confirmed statement that Akali passed away sometime during the end of December 2024.[1] This also explained Akali's vauge tweet before that said statement. The cause of Akali's death has been undisclosed.
