Discussion for CYBER DIVA

I'm sorry, excuse my French, but seriously. WHY?! I'm not even buying VOCALOIDs and even I think this is so flawed....
Well it's not like English Vocaloids are exclusive to Europe and America only.

True, but she's targeted at a western audiance. It seems weird that it'll be a while before we get her. I think that she's being released first in Japan though because the biggest VOCALOID fanbase is in Japan (I think...).
The new MMD model does look pretty impressive :)

Misteryeevee is angry because they said that "only in Japan CYBER DIVA will be released as a box on February at the moment". If you live elsewhere you will only be able to get a download software.
Oh, sorry I misunderstood :P
Advertises CD as a US-English project and presents it at NAMM...
Releases physical copies only in Japan...
PROCESSING...
...
... //ERROR: Momo's mind has shut down suddenly and must be restarted. Process does not compute.
(My heart is hurting... literally. I get the fact they want to play it safe, but geez, can't catch a break with actually getting these V4 editor and library physical copies state-side. This level of trolling from Yamaha is only going to turn folks off from the hype, not get them on board...) (ಥ︵ಥ)
The "downloading versus physical" issue is actually logical.
In the west, people are more likely to choose downloading as an option because of several reasons. Firstly, the consumer finds it cheaper. Secondly, the % of profit is great then a physical copies may produce. Thirdly, if its something the company hasn't done before they may not even be in a position to be able to send the software out yet and are still arranging details while in Japan everything is already in place due to previous experience. The company can also control the distribution of the download and monitor it much more closely.
In Japan, there are also many collectors who do buy physical versions to have the full set. There is even a video on Nico showing a guy's full collection, including two copies of Sonika (one for each boxart that was on sale at the time). I don't have the url anymore. Basically, producers are just as likely to buy physical in some respects as they are download, it just depends on if their a collector or not. Plus it was confirmed long ago that outside of Japan Vocaloid is treated as a export and it costs more just to develop a vocaloid because of this and impacts the % of profit... Download is literally their most profitable method and "best" for consumer.
Even if you take into other factors, lots of things can go wrong more on a physical copy then a digital download. Its also why STEAM is so popular for gamer buying and how now 40% of all bought games come from steam.
Acording to Amazon.jp the release date has been bumped up to the 3rd.
I hope some good composers have ordered/downloaded her~ Would love to hear her be used by papiyon :D
