A new Vocaloid By first place?
Considering that the expectations within Japan towards male and female roles is not yet on par with the western world, girls likely aren't still pushes towards this kind of industry yet too often (times are slowly changing though). Thus its safe to presume that 70% at the very least are still male. In short, you should expect the Voclaoids to reflect their cultures and Japan is going to produce 1 male for every 10 females. Things are more even in the west, hence why we have a male for ever 2-4 females instead. But still the majority of producers will end up being male even here in the west where the option for girls to take up music is much easier.
To sum things up, Noboru pretty much highlighted how he wanted to produce a male vocal, but can't. their company works with professional singers mostly, so its going to be expensive to find a male singer to do it. Sales of male vocals were still low in Japan, which is why whenever we get males from Japan their always gimmicky. Fukase has XSY and English... Arsloid 3 vocals. We haven't had a single vocal release male in Japan for while.
The lack of males is a reult of the Japanese culture; don't expect males and just be happy when you get them. 1st place is still a company who has to fork out money for each vocal it makes and Vocaloid is still a consumer product. Unless the sales start doubling, the ratio isn't going to change. And being that Japanese vocals are aimed at the Japanese market, this is an issue that Japan itself has to resolve, we can do nothing but wait. This is the same thing we've had to say to people fretting over chinese vocaloids such as Lorra's cancellation.
In short, just forget the gender of each Vocaloid and be thankful there is a vocaloid on its way.=_=

How about no?
I'm not gonna be all hypy and excited just because a VOCALOID is coming up. If the gender is a girl, and since a lot of us are tired of female VOCALOIDs, we WILL complain about it.
Yes yes, Japan loves females yeah yaeh.......How about English? Spanish? A new language?
Tbh, most female VOCALOIDs sound like each other, and you're telling me that I should just shut up and be thankful? NU-UH!
Of course I will not complain about it everywhere, but if an uninteresting (A Japanese female VOCALOID, as a great example) I will not even care about it, and ignore it'S existent.
I don't care how big and popular VOCALOIDs will become, the lack of male VOCALOIDs will piss off people in the West.
But it's the Japanese female VOCALOIDs that are sounding alike and it's the Japanese (with the Chinese and Korean) Vocaloids that are getting dominated by the females, what's the point of (most of us) complaining over the Japanese VOCALOIDs when they're aimed at the Japanese fandom and their producers?
Because people love Japanese!....Even though, the language is a bit difficult and most know it only because of anime/manga/games.....

I covered other languages... =_=
But again, it doesn't matter. For all the weabooism here in the west, Japan has its own culture and its not what most of the anime/manga nuts think it is. Pardon for me saying all this, but I'm not telling you to shut up; I'm saying "who are we to tell them what they can and can't do?". Its not our place, we hardly buy any Vocaloids compared to the amount bought in Japan by the Japanese. Even though this is now slowly changing, the majority of sales still occur within Japan.
As I said, the Vocaloids are a consumer based product, and its subjected to trends. Those female Japanese vocaloids are aimed at that 80% producer market within Japan; who cares what the west think, they've (us) got their own Vocaloids and they (we again) don't buy enough to impact the Japanese ones.
Pardon me saying, but its just something you have to accept about Vocaloid here. You CAN complain, but you CAN'T change it. Their not YOUR vocaloids, their JAPANS Vocaloids. :-/
Edit: Also not everyone shares your love of Japan...
For Mistery: Please don't derail the topic, this thread is for discussion on Vocaloid H, not gender in Vocaloid. Thanks!
Topics like this are often best not being credited until more information then a basic "H" and short demo are given to us. I'm also sorry for my part in this... I gues I can't always help it. Especially as I complained at VO forums about the same thing happening to the Fukase topic at VO forums.:-/
Hm yeah, like they need German vocaloids or somethin new! It would expand the fan base, maybe.
given that 1st place mainly (if not entirely) markets in japan, and has no German reclist to work with, i don't think that's possible. english would be the most likely other than japanese, considering at lease Lia can speak/sing in it
I actually linked to the DA blog where it summarized a steam video a while back where it confirmed the current languages on the table for consideration next are French, Portuguese, and Italian. Its on Status.
This is off topic though and be practical here. We're now more then a year or so into V4's life, a new language will likely come with V5's update and not any sooner as the engine needs to be updated to accept more languages. So I doubt H is anything but a Japanese Vocaloid right now. Plus any that was given to us indicated strongly its Japanese.
At the moment, the Vocaloid engine seems to be focused on expanding into the languages its established and had some success with, this being primarily Japanese since its the most successful, English since its the second most expanded upon and possible the Chinese vocaloids because the makers are pushing things harder now. We've had nothing for Spanish V4 and too long to get to Uni.
1st Place is kinda a successful company, but it has two vocals under its belt and one of its characters went to CeVIO not Vocaloid. I wouldn't be surprised if IA went there with a singing vocal in addition to her talkin one thats coming up soon. I think 1st needs a little more then IA on the table before it can do too much more, and IA's the only hint so far about language jumping - and she was V2 level successful.
Quite interesting, more reaearch for me then! :D
