History

The development of Bruno and Clara (a Spanish female) started around 2009. For that was made a casting which included  ESMUC's students, professional and amateur singers. From that casting two candidates were chosen, a male and a female. The creation of the voicebanks wasn't continued immediately, as first it was required to adapt VOCALOID's engine to the Spanish and found the company for its creation.

An early version of Bruno was shown during a Yamaha Conference in 2010.

His demos were revealed October 21, 2011. Bruno and Clara were released on the 23rd of December. Their production was aided by Giuseppe.

Upon their first release they were only able to be bought via download and buyers had to use a non-free e-mail account to purchase them. This was to prevent credit card fraud, the problem was not Voctro Labs, but rather the retail seller Share-it's rules for sale. They came without the full editor, but could be bought together or separately. Their joint package made them the cheapest of the VOCALOID3 voicebanks, despite the user having to purchase the full VOCALOID3 editor separately.

Finally in January 26, a month after their release, they were available to buy using PayPal, allowing the customers use a free e-mail account.

Re-release

Originally Bruno and Clara were released only as separate vocals only. A later dual package was released in early 2014, while the vocals were still sold separately as well, the price of the pair as individuals had been reduced going from €80 to €49. The price of €49 which had previously been the price only when they were on sale. The new dual packaging came with new boxart for both of the vocalists. Bruno's vocal can now only be bought as a physical version via the dual package with Clara as his separate vocal is a digital download only.

Bruno is the male counterpart to Clara. He is a deep and mature male vocal. He was initially sold separately from Clara, however, a bundled version consisting of Clara and himself was released. A plug-in was released for him that converts Japanese VSQx files into Spanish Phonetics, allowing him to "speak Japanese". It can be downloaded from VOCTRO labs. Example VSQx files "Juntos Tú y Yo" and "El Trenecito" can also be downloaded from their website.
Vocal traits as noted:
Reported to be quite understandable overall by Spanish fans. His lower range sounds better than his higher range due to the strength of his vocals. He is considered better overall than his counterpart Clara, as he is easier to use. At a optimum range going as low as #E1, Bruno has the lowest optimum range of any VOCALOID3 vocal. Bruno has 10 breath samples included which can only be accessed within the Vocaloid software.
Phonetic notes as noted:
He has an Iberian Spanish accent which is noticed with the addition of the [T] phoneme and the realization of the [s] phoneme, which has certain "whistling" or SH-like quality. However, this one isn't so heavy, which allows the user to achieve a more neutral accent in case it be required; the pronunciation can be edited to avoid it completely as well. When using the phonemes [x] and [U] together, Bruno will make a static noise instead of pronouncing the sound. This is due to a glitch that involves the [U] phoneme not being meant to be used on its own in the Spanish language. When using the [o] phoneme, Bruno will sometimes add an extra "ng" sound onto the vowel. when using the [a] phoneme, Bruno will sometimes add an extra "m" sound onto the vowel.
Software issues as noted:
Unlike MAIKA, he has less phonetics, so his plug-in may not be able to match sounds as close as MAIKA's can.
