Background[]
"1925" is an original song featuring Hatsune Miku by T-POCKET. It is his most notable song which has also reached Hall of Legend.
The song's meaning is slightly vague and as such there are many interpretations of it. One of them is the depiction of life during the recovery of WWI, when many women sold themselves. Another interpretation is that the song is about the changes that occurred during Japan around this period of time. Around the turn of the 20th century, Japan began opening its borders to Western influence. Due to this, Japan began to industrialize quicker than its East Asian neighbors. However, while Japan began to industrialize and open its mind to Western ideas and customs, the song portrays that Japan slowly began to lose the beauty of its classic traditions in favor of the advancement that industrial society can bring. This is noted by the illustration above, the left side of the background representing tradition and nature, and the right side technology and industry.
The song makes an appearance in the Project DIVA series with vocal switches for Kagamine Rin & Len, Megurine Luka, KAITO and MEIKO.
