galaco VOCALOID3 (prize ver.) VOCALOID3 Talk | Songs Albums Notable Originals

This article is about the VOCALOID3 software known as a voicebank. If you are looking for the VOCALOID character then click here.

History[]

In early August 2013, a new update for galaco was shown and a demo song released for her next project. Users who were given their free codes to extend galaco's usage were asked to keep hold of them for future reference.[1]

In October, it was confirmed that galaco would be due for a spring 2014 release and that there would be a VOCALOID NEO version.[2]

The new version contains two new vocals, "Red" and "Blue", with "Red" being similar to the original vocal.[3][4] A trial version of both vocals was made available as a bonus DVD that was included with the purchase of the re-released galaco SUPER BEST album on February 19, 2014.[5]

On July 9, galaco NEO's new design and release date were revealed. Her package was to be bundled with the galaco Talk software which uses the AITalk engine.[6] galaco NEO was set to be available as a download on her birthday, August 5.[7] The download price would be 16,000 Japanese Yen.

On July 13, it was announced that visitors to the VOC@LOID M@STER(ボーマス)29 event may be able to get a trial of galaco if they visit her booth.[8]

galaco Talk Retirement[]

On January 26, 2023, Yamaha announced the official discontinuation of the bundled galaco Talk software due to Microsoft support for Windows 8.1 officially ending on January 10, 2023. New purchases of VOCALOID3 galaco would not include the bundled software as of February 15, 2023. Users could activate and deactivate galaco Talk until March 31, 2024. Existing customers who have purchased VOCALOID3 galaco prior to February 15, and registered their copy of galaco Talk using their "VOCALOID ID", could still download their copy of the software from the included email link after February 16, 2023.[9]

Trial/Demo Vers?: Yes  Starter Available?: No  App vers.?: Yes
Package details as noted:

This is the official commercial release of galaco.

The package also comes with 100 samples of Galaco saying various things.

As part of the galaco NEO package, there was also a bundled software called galacoTalk, a Text-To-Speech program, which allows the user to input words and hear them in galaco's voice. The software runs on AITalk (The same engine VOICEROID uses) and is Windows only. This vocal was officially retired on February 15, 2023 and was removed from the galaco NEO package for new purchases.

Vocal traits as noted:
  • Has a new additional vocal within the package and a updated version of the original vocal.
  • The vocals are designed to produce more contrasting results, with "Red" being the main singing voice and "blue" being the supportive vocal.
  • This package was ranked among the 5 choices for rock genre music alongside IA ROCKS, V flower, Mayu and VY1v4. It was highlighted with the song "Warning!" on VOCALOID NET.[10]

Cross-Synthesis as noted:
  • When imported into VOCALOID4, the cross-synthesis (XSY) function can be used on both the "Red" and "Blue" voicebanks.
  • In total the package offers the equivalent of 2 additional voicebanks achievable via XSY. The total tone variation offered by the package comes to a theoretical 4 voicebanks in total.
  • Note that these vocals were not designed to be used for XSY originally as it was not part of the VOCALOID3 engine functions. Results may be rougher than VOCALOID4 XSY vocals for that reason.
