Background[]
- Description: The sixteenth installment in Crypton Future Media's annual HATSUNE MIKU EXPO concert series, this concert will let fans experience the MIKU EXPO concert through virtual reality. The event was funded through a Kickstarter campaign that took place between February 5–April 6, 2023, with its main funding goal being reached on March 16 and one stretch goal being reached on April 4. A variety of online sub-events and workshops were also held in conjuction with the event. The main key visual for the event was illustrated by Bukurote and the official theme song is "imaginary love story" by Synthion.

Contests[]
Three contests were held in conjuction with the concert.
The MIKU EXPO 2023 VR Song Contest was held in collaboration with digital store SONICWIRE, where creators could submit a song sung only by Hatsune Miku. The winner would have their song performed in the concert if the Kickstarter campaign's first stretch goal was reached, as well as receiving 100,000 JPY voucher for music production products from SONICWIRE, and an assortment of Hatsune Miku and Piapro Characters goods. Runner-ups would have their songs be included in the concert's credits and receive 30,000 JPY worth of products from SONICWIRE, and an assortment of goods.
The winning song was later announced to be "Plaything" by Mizu.

The MIKU EXPO 2023 VR Costume Design Contest was held where illustrators could submit a design for Miku to where when performing the winning contest song for the event if one of the Kickstarter campaign's stretch goals was reached. The winning illustrator would be rewarded with an assortment of goods. The theme for the contest was "Toy Box".
The winning design was later announced to be illustrated by NOLemon.

The MIKU EXPO 2023 VR Illustration Contest was held where illustrators could submit artwork featuring the piapro characters that will chosen to be displayed in the MIKU EXPO 2023 VR sub event, “#MikuWorldGallery” and the illustrations selected for the Grand Prize and Runner-ups will also be used in the endroll of MIKU EXPO 2023 VR. The winner and runner-ups would also have their illustrations be included in the official digital guide book and receieve an assortment of goods.
