The sequel, Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- 2nd, was released in July 2010. The game focuses on Crypton's most popular VOCALOID as she sings her way through various music stages. The game features costume changes and cameos by VOCALOIDs MEIKO, KAITO, Kagamine Rin & Len, and Megurine Luka. Also featured are popular derivatives Sakine Meiko, Akita Neru and Yowane Haku. Features
Gameplay
An animated PV plays as players try to time their button presses with the colorful shaped icons moving across the screen. The game's most highly praised feature, Edit mode, allows the players to create a customized music video of their desired song saved on their PSP that could even include gameplay.
The game's playlist consists of popular songs by known Producers and also fan illustrations as loading screens.
All songs with the pink tag are produced by ryo, blue by kz, and orange by OSTER project.
Modules
See gallery for /Modules
Not including the default Miku module, there are a total of 52 modules to unlock. This is done by various methods such as: clearing stages based on difficulty, having ranks, combos, and high scores. Some stages require a player to use a certain module to gain other modules.

Title | 初音ミク -Project DIVA- Original Song Collection | |||
Producer | Various | |||
Release Date | July 22, 2009 |
Trivia
- During beta development of -Project DIVA-, there were several features that were scrapped:
- Free DLC songs. All of the DLC songs released were priced, and their PVs were made via Edit Mode only.
- An online multiplayer mode.
- During the game secquence, there would have been an animated screen to show how good or bad the player is. It was later used in another rhythm game: K-ON! Ho-kago Live!!
- A star icon would be appear and the player must slide the analogue stick to press. This was later used in -Project DIVA- f and onwards.
- If the song's energy was low, the music would be scrambled. This was cancelled due the size limitations of the game's data.
- An early trailer for Project DIVA featured the original PVs for "ブラック★ロックシューター (Black★Rock Shooter)" and "貴方に花を 私に唄を (Anata ni Hana o Watashi ni Uta o)", which suggests that these songs were going to be present in the game, but removed in development.
- Dreamy Theater gave new PVs to songs in the PSP version of Project DIVA which previously only had slideshows of fan artwork in display ("Ievan Polkka", "Anata no Utahime", "Electric Angel", "Hatsune Miku no Shoushitsu" and "Kogane no Seiya Sousetsu ni Kuchite").
- "桜ノ雨 (Sakura no Ame)" is the only song that cannot be played in Dreamy Theater for unknown reasons.
