Background

The song is easily interpreted as this: "Let Me Sing". The narrative could be interpreted as the following: "a song was given to Miku by the creators, in order to show their love to her, hence she was born through song. The song may someday die and be forgotten, it may be buried in the past, but for now let the song be alive and known, let the song be sung by Hatsune Miku." The lyrics won the sympathy of many and for a while it became a signature song of Miku.

Rise to Popularity

The song was made in order to quell Dwango, Crypton Media Future and Ika's controversy.

Dwango Music Publishing Inc., a company related to Niconico, registered "Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru" on JASRAC without full agreement of its creator Ika and Crypton Future Media, Inc. Furthermore, Dwango used the name "Hatsune Miku" without permission of Crypton. This third party's conduct and the following dishonest steps brought the ire and confusion of many fans and other creators. This problem has since been settled by both parties (Crypton & Dwango).

While the song was made to give a message to both parties, it also got the attention of many confused users.

The phrase "Another Innocence?" later became a joke, coming about whenever a major controversy occurred between Crypton and any other party.
