KANA and HAYATO are a pair of VOCALOIDs developed and distributed by Yamaha Corporation as part of the Silhouette Series. They are included in the version 6.6.0 VOCALOID6 engine update, using VOCALOID:AI technology, and were released in June 2025. Both vocalists are Japanese-capable VOCALOIDs.

Their voice providers have not been revealed.

Concept

They are the sixth set of "standard" voices to be released following the fifth set of vocalists for VOCALOID6, JESSICA, MATTHEW, BRIAN, & SANDRA.

Etymology

No official information was released regarding why their names were chosen or what they may mean.

Appearance

Similar to past Yamaha VOCALOIDs, the two have designs that are left open for interpretation. Rather than having fully illustrated character designs, they were instead represented by black silhouettes with some detail as to how they may look like. Both vocalists have a signature color presented in the background and shadings on their silhouettes: orange for KANA and purple for HAYATO.

The silhouettes were illustrated by the Japanese manga artist Kagemaru Himeno.

Marketing

The two vocals were marketed as being exclusive vocals that come with the VOCALOID6 engine itself, following the Ver.6.6.0 update and have access to the VOCALOID:AI technology.
