On March 21, 2025, AI, Inc. announced that its A.I.VOICE Live Broadcast #52 would be held on March 28 and that it would be hosted by Yui Sakakibara, the voice provider of sister vocals Kotonoha Akane & Aoi, as well as AI, Inc.'s own Keina Kurita (栗田圭奈). A major announcement by the Kotonoha sisters was listed among the topics to be talked about there.[1][2]
On March 27, AI, Inc. announced that Akane and Aoi would be receiving singing voicebanks for VOCALOID6, with development and distribution in the hands of Internet Co., Ltd.; the release date was set to coincide with the sisters' official birthday on April 25.[3][4] Both physical and digital-download versions were announced, each one coming in both standalone and Starter Pack editions.[5]

VOCALOID6 Kotonoha Akane & Aoi is a pair of voicebanks that include the singing voices of "cheerful and bright Akane" and "cute and whispery Aoi", based on the voice of voice actress Yui Sakakibara. Depending on the direction, you can create a variety of singing voices, from natural human-like singing voices to futuristic robot voices. It is fully compatible with the new functions of VOCALOID6, such as the "VOCALO CHANGER" function that reproduces singing style and lyrics based on the creator's own singing data, and the multilingual function that enables fluent singing that mixes Japanese, English, and Chinese.
