History[]

On June 30, 2017, YAMAHA Corporation posted a demonstration video on twitter. This video showed how to instantly change the singers and in the list was "Matcha". At the time, it was unknown why the name was included in the singer list. This video was deleted some time afterwards.[1]

On July 12, Kobayashi Matcha and fellow Project 575 character, Masaoka Azuki, were announced and released on the VOCALOID4 engine. Hiro Kanzaki designed their new VOCALOID4 outfits and Ayaka Oohashi reprised her role for Matcha. While the MATCHA and AZUKI packages are normally available separately, for a limited time, users could purchase them together at a discounted price.[2]
