MUGEN Co., Ltd. (株式会社MUGEN) or MUGEN Corporation is a company specializing in video production and virtual characters, based in the Yamagata prefecture.

About[]

MUGEN Co., Ltd. was founded in January 2007 by Keisuke Masukawa as a thank-you gesture to his hometown of Sagae City, after the pub run by his father there was destroyed by a fire and many of the local people took their time to show his family support and "warm words of encouragement". He won the "Yamagata Hometown CM Award", sponsored by local television station YTS, for his dedication to his community after helping his family rebuild their store. As a member of the Industry Young Men's Club, together with the Sagae City Chamber of Commerce, he produced a commercial for Sagae City and won the grand prize in the second year of submitting the work. The following year, he received a music award.[1]

Originally established as a video-production company, MUGEN Corporation produced, among other things, official demo videos for A.I.VOICE text-to-speech voice libraries (including those for characters originating from VOCALOID, namely GUMI, ZOLA PROJECT, and the VY series).[2]
