  • Hello,

Passing this to Rougefan and you since none of you have Discord.

The other evening, Viper discovered that from March 23, bilibili would start using different IDs for any new uploads on the platform. These IDs have nothing to do with the usual ones (the av<number>), since now they are with this format: BV<string> (imagine the string thing like a YouTube ID, that you would stick next to "BV").

I had to change manually by using my bot account to not clutter RecentChanges too much (as well as our Discord feed), and Xuanmien did the rest this night with her own bot (with less corrections than I could do with the human mode).

So next time you work with a page that contains a bilibili ID, specify as well the 2 first letters after the "/", so either "av" either "BV" then the ID we were using before, since we altered a bit the Template:External's working. Xuanmien also did in sort it would support the audio URLs of bilibili. For these ones, the 2 first letters of the ID to use would be "au". And if ever you encounter a page with a bilibili ID, don't be surprised anymore if you see we're back to using "av" at the beginning of the IDs.

Thought it was good to warn you since there is no other way to contact you as for now... :/

Other thing that you can do meanwhile, we still have to convert the Derivatives template, like this I'll be able to delete the former one so no one gets confused between which one to use (it still happened recently sadly :( ). I tried to do some, so all the ones in this one have converted templates. It reduced a bit the list of the pages having the former derivatives template. As little help, you can use this page to see where there is some work to do. I concede that this won't be done within a single day (seriously, take your time, I'll have to attack this list as well someday XD), but if ever you want to do something and have no ideas, you can start by here. Make yourselves little lists, with the time, the list will become less and less longer and we'll see the end of this tunnel! :D

A tool you can possibly use for this task (and even for some other things!) is the script FindAndReplace (available here), you can follow the instructions to install it on your global.js page (example here for mine so you see how it's done, tip, go to the bottom), it will save you soooooo much time than replacing all of this manually...

    Good luck ^^

  • Hey Lynnellet, I just wanted to let you know that "Nee, Dorodoro-san" is already in the millions sub page for "Kagamine Rin/Notable songs list" since the song is already at 2 million views on Niconico.

    • My bad, I overlooked its entry on Niconico :') I will make sure to be more careful in my edits.

  • Hey Lynn,

I've only seen it happen for one page, but just in case, make sure the songs are listed in release date order for the Notable pages.

I knew COLORBARS came before Cause I'm a Liar, or rather, I wasn't sure until I checked lol. (Looking at the dates make me feel old tho)

    Thanks! You're doing awesome work!

    • Thanks for the notice! It was my fault for not checking the upload date of the older version (yeah I felt weird looking at the upload dates of some songs too lol).

Again, thank you for the message!

  • I am not sure if you are intentionally do so, but your edits to Producer pages is adding extra coding that isn't needed since it works via template recall. If your preferences are "visual" base then you need to switch it to "source".

    • Thanks for your message, I have noticed and switched to source base on my preference.

Gee, that explains the bunch of codes under the Works and Discography section whenever I try to make edits on Producer pages. It's resolved now.

  • For future reference, if there's stuff written in Chinese, please forward the page to an editor experienced in the language. For the most part, it's likely going to be me as I'm the most active and I know what linkable pages we have. Plus leaving the titles as "Vocalists Cover" doesn't fly with me if it's one or two people singing it. The singers should be credited properly...

I'm relaying this message from NebulousViper, since he can't do it atm, so I'ma do for him. ^^"

But take note of his message, thank you! :)
