Background

It is one of the most well known Luka songs featuring English lyrics, and has been plagiarized by aRth. The actual voice of Luka in this particular song does not sound as she normally does and has been altered to achieve a particular vocal tone.

The song has never had its meaning clarified by Ryuuuu, although many popular conclusions have been drawn from the lyrics.

The Plagiarism by aRth

Originally, the video was uploaded by aRth. However, about 1 year after its upload Ryuuuu, the creator of the song caught up with the video. Ryuuuu had linked to the song file via an url, but had not uploaded the song onto Nico Nico Douga. From the url, aRTH obtained access to the song and then uploaded it onto Nico Nico Douga into aRth's own account. It wasn't until much later that Ryuuuu noticed aRth's upload and the plagiarism was announced, by which time the video had many views. The consequence of this action was that aRth's account and all videos on it were deleted from Nico Nico Douga. As proof of this, Ryuuuu uploaded the instrumentals of the song. It has also been found out that aRth had also uploaded other songs that weren't his on his account.[1][2]

The PV remains on Nico Nico Douga as Ryuuuu did not object to its presence because of its popularity and only requested the correct creator of the song changed to Ryuuuu's name and aRTH's be removed.[3]

Lyrics

I don't know if I am a boy
I don't know if I am a girl
I don't know when I was born
I don't know who's my mother
I don't know how I got alone
I don't know how I got mad
I don't know how I got mad
I don't think I should get back

Tell me now
that u really like the show
Tell me now
that u really want to get high
Tell me now
that u really like my style, oh
Tell u now
that u are to commit a crime

U want this
Tell me how u want it to be

My mind, heart is broken
No one else
but u was going to
understand my way
But from the day I found u babe
U falling into me

Tell me now
that u really like the show
Tell me now
that u really want to get high
Tell me now
that u really like my style, oh
Tell u now
that u are to commit a crime

U want this
Tell me how u want it to be

I don't know if I am a boy
I don't know if I am a girl
I don't know when I was born
I don't know who my mother is
I don't know how I got alone
I don't know how I got mad
I don't know how I got mad
I don't think I should get back

I don't know if I am a boy
I don't know if I am a girl
I don't know when I was born
I don't know who my mother is
I don't know how I got alone
I don't know how I got mad
I don't know how I got mad
I don't think I should get back

Tell me now
that u really like the show
Tell me now
that u really want to get high
Tell me now
that u really like my style, oh
Tell u now

I don't know if I am a girl
I don't know when I was born

I don't know how I got mad
I don't know how I got mad

Trivia

  • The name "Secret" is often believed by fans to imply a hidden message or meaning is held within the song. However, the title may have been given by aRth based on the song's file name, which was probably named as such because it was hidden from view. "Secret" was merely meant to imply the song was not meant for viewing as Ryuuuu never originally gave the name "secret" as the title.
