History[]
On July 18, 2024, the same day GekiyakuV and KazehikiV were released for the VOCALOID6 engine, Yamaha Corporation announced that Ci-chan, And Uge, Kanade Kanon, and Kasukabe Tsumugi –all of them based on Virtual YouTubers who received prototype releases on the VOCALOID β-STUDIO VX-β engine– would be receiving voicebanks for the VOCALOID6 engine as well. Ci-chan's voicebank, announced to be named Vocalo no Ci-chan (ボカロのCiちゃん) for VOCALOID6, was announced to also be releasing as a voicebank for the VX-β engine's final release[1] (although later on VX-β would be reworked to simply accept V6 voicebanks rather than require new dedicated VX-β ones). The release date was initially set to around the fall of 2024.[2] The information was also confirmed by her voice provider, Ci the Jiangshi.[3]
On September 27, Ci the Jiangshi announced a livestream event in celebration of the launch of Vocalo no Ci-chan with a broadcast announcement to be held at 12:00 JST and the broadcast stream at 20:00 JST.[4][5][6][7] The same day, the first demo song for Vocalo no Ci-chan was published: a cover of RTRT by the Japanese indie band, Mili. Sales of Vocalo no Ci-chan on the VOCALOID SHOP were announced to begin on October 9.[8][9] During the livestream broadcast, a limited edition physical package set including the voicebank, commemorative post card, acrylic diorama, and the Lite edition of the VOCALOID6 Editor was announced to be released on the official Ci-chan BOOTH account with pre-order reservations starting on September 27. Demonstrations were also shown during the broadcast.[10][11] It was noted that Ci the Jiangshi received special permission to distribute the VOCALOID6 voicebank through her official BOOTH account.[12] A new logo for the Vocalo no Ci-chan package and the official key artwork were revealed, announced to be illustrated by Succubus Riya and syuri22, respectively.[13]
