Some time ago, he kept going to the company, preparing to bring home the recorded libraries. After bringing them home, he was able to complete several V5s. At the time of his post, he hoped to create demos in time for Ling's character birthday in April. History

2015

On May 29, 2015, in a Q/A session with Shanghai HENIAN Information Technology Co. Ltd., fans asked questions about a possibility to update their VOCALOID3s. The company responded that it was always in consideration, but noted that upgrading a VOCALOID was not easy as it would require time, funding, and effort to revisit a VOCALOID. At the time, the company’s operations and survival could not allow them to update any vocals.[1]

On July 23, in response to a producer’s question, Yuezheng Longya’s production was leaked. It was also noted that SHN was considering VOCALOID4 updates for Luo Tianyi, YANHE, and Yuezheng Ling.[2]

2018

On July 25, 2018, Rosary reported that recordings for a Ling V5 update was in progress.[3]

2020

He confirmed that she has a Dark voicebank in the works and was asking for suggestions on the Chinese name of the voicebank.[4]

GENERAL USAGE

Product Information
Versions
Trial/Demo Vers?: Yes; for a limited time  Starter Available?: No
Package details as noted:

Ling is a youthful and energetic female vocalist. For her VOCALOID5 update, she has two voicebanks: "Chi" (Normal) and "You" (Dark).

Vocal traits as noted:
  • Her VOCALOID shop listing noted that she had energetic and powerful vocals.
  • GWL added.
  • At 160 BPM range in total, both of Ling's V5 voicebanks had the largest tempo of any Chinese VOCALOID released, besting the previous V3 version. This allowed her to cover a massive amount of genres compared to other VOCALOIDs from her language.
  • The V5 voicebanks' recommended ranges (both listed as F2~F4) had decreased compared to the V3 voicebank. Although they were noted to handle a slightly lower range (compared to V3's G2), the upper ranges cannot reach the same as V3 (up to C5).

Individual Vocals

Product Information
Optimum
Optimum Range: F2~F4  Optimum Tempo: 60~220 BPM
  Total Tempo (min-max): 160 BPM  No. of Keys: W ~ 15, B ~ 10, Total ~ 25
Package details as noted:

"Chi" is meant to retain the energetic and youthful tone of Ling's original VOCALOID3 voicebank. It is considered the default vocal of the package.

Vocal traits as noted:
  • The meaning of the voicebank name suggests that her voice is as intense and raging as fire. Ling's V3 voice was regarded to be considerably powerful and was able to project without much issue of being drowned by background music. Thus, Chi's name acknowledges this trait.
    • That said, Chi works well with genres like rock and metal. It is possible that, like her V3 voicebank, Chi may be flexible.
  • The VOCALOID SHOP noted this to be a full and bright voice.

Product Information
Optimum
  Genre: F2~F4  Optimum Range: 60~220 BPM  Total Tempo (min-max): 160 BPM  No. of Keys: W ~ 15, B ~ 10, Total ~ 25
Package details as noted:

"You" is a newly introduced timbre for Ling. It's considered to be more expressive than her original V3 and her V5 "Chi" voicebank.

Vocal traits as noted:
  • This vocal sounds more mellow and softer compared to Ling's original voicebank, allowing her to work with softer-toned genres that required more work with her original sound of voice. The meaning of the voicebank's name matches with the tone, describing it as "quiet(er)" and "tranquil".
  • The VOCALOID SHOP noted that this voicebank had more emotional expressiveness to her singing, allowing for more flexibility for various genres.
