Xin Hua VOCALOID3 VOCALOID4 Japanese | Songs Albums Notable Originals

This article is about the VOCALOID4 software known as a voicebank. If you are looking for the VOCALOID character then click here.

History[]

In 2015, in response to a fan's question, Gynoid Co., Ltd. considered a Xin Hua Append where a Japanese vocal may be present. However, for the Append to occur, Xin Hua's VOCALOID3 package must sell at least 5,000 units.[1] It is unknown if she managed to meet this goal or if this still influenced the decision to create Japanese vocals for her.

On August 21, 2017, it was confirmed that Xin Hua would receive two Japanese vocals: Natural and Power. Her design was revealed to be her VOCALOID3 outfit and pose, but utilized one of the conceptual color schemes that VOFAN considered in the past. Pre-orders for her VOCALOID4 Japanese and Chinese packages were made available. For Japanese, these vocals would be available on Gynoid's shop as a standalone package or as a starter pack with the VOCALOID4 Editor for Cubase. These packages were confirmed to be released on September 22.[2]

A trial for her Japanese voicebanks became available on September 7.[3] Her Japanese and Chinese versions were made available as separate packages on YAMAHA's VOCALOID SHOP.

Package details as noted:

The Japanese version of Xin Hua. Has two voicebanks designed for XSY: Natural and Power.

Xin Hua is a youthful vocal. According to the VOCALOID SHOP, she has a childlike voice, though this was later contradicted when she was mentioned to have an "adult-like cute voice" for the Japanese voicebanks.

Vocal traits as noted:
  • Like her V3 and V4 Chinese voicebanks, she is advertised as versatile according to her product page on the VOCALOID SHOP.

Cross-Synthesis as noted:

In total the package offers the equivalent of 2 additional voicebanks achievable via XSY. The total tone variation offered by the package comes to a theoretical 4 voicebanks in total.

  Total Tempo (min-max): 120 BPM  No. of Keys: W ~ 12, B ~ 9, Total ~ 21
Package details as noted:

A vocal that is meant to resemble the cute tone of her Mandarin vocals. However, rather than having on a "cute child-like" tone like her Mandarin versions, it has a more "cute adult-like" tone.

Software issues as noted:
  • Due to the difference in tone, there are times when switching from Japanese to Chinese results in tones that don't match up. This results in the two voicebanks not behaving the same in terms of tone control as well.
